Online Classes

Our virtual Fall 1 session begins August 22 and runs through October 17. Fall 2 runs October  20 - December 12.  Please see our CALENDAR for specific dates (start, end, holidays, etc), and REGISTER for pricing and registration info.  We are offering a 35% reduced rate for the second class if your child does more than one per session. Sorry, no earlybird or sibling discounts for this session - we've already built our lowest possible pricing into the reduced online tuition. If you are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19, contact us and we will work with you to accommodate your child :)

Offered for fall session:

THEATRE GAMES 1 (Ages 4-7)  45 minutes  - Graham - TUESDAYS AT 3 PM

and THEATRE GAMES 2 (Ages 6-8) 45 minutes  - Graham - WEDNESDAYS AT 3 PM

This class introduces the core skills of acting in a playful and engaging way. In our 45-minute weekly sessions, we learn how to warm up body and voice, we play structured games that foster listening skills, teamwork and confidence, and even create short plays. Games touch on imagination, sense memory, character, improvisation, and stagecraft.  We've modified our curriculum to suit the zoom format, incorporating puppets, stuffed animals, and imaginary journeys in our zoom-ing spaceships! (class size limited to 6)

IMPROV (Ages 9 and up) one hour - Graham - WEDNESDAYS AT 4 PM

In these fast paced and fun 60 minute classes, kids jump into improv exercises that build imagination, communication and teamwork skills.  Students learn to listen, collaborate with their peers and create their own improvised plays. We've modified our curriculum to suit the zoom format, using our individual zoom frames as puppet stages, mirrors, alternate realities and more. A great way for kids to use their imagination to get out of the house while staying home! (class size limited to 8)

MUSICAL THEATRE  COMPANY (Ages 9 and up)  90 minutes - Kate - SATURDAYS 12:30 - 2

Kate has completely reimagined this class for the virtual spehere.  This fall kids will be working on numbers from the Wonderland Adventures musical we started rehearsing last winter.  But not to worry if your child is just jumping in!  Instead of working towards a final live performance, we'll be rehearsing and shooting each number individually small chunks via zoom.  This will change the pace and excitement of the class - it'll be less about memorization and more about unbridled creativity and fun! This a larger group class and is loads of fun :)

ACTING COMPANY  (Ages 11-12)   one hour - Graham - SATURDAYS 2:15 - 4:15

This class gives young actors an opportunity to bring their acting skills to scripted material. This fall kids will be working on numbers from the Wonderland Adventures we started rehearsing last winter.  But not to worry if your child is just jumping in!  Instead of working towards a final live performance, we'll be rehearsing and shooting scenes individually in small chunks via zoom.  Kids can play multiple roles, and more than one child may play each character. We'll be using breakout rooms within the zoom meetings so that class can rehearse multiple scenes at once. This will change the pace and excitement of the class - it'll be less about memorization and more about unbridled creativity and fun!  (this will be a larger class that breaks into smaller rehearsal groups)

FILMMAKING  (Ages 9 and up)  70 minutes + homework!  - Elise - THURSDAYS 6 - 7:10

We will learn about concepts of shot composition, storytelling, editing, camera placement and more. Kids who sign up for this should know that this class requires study and working on filmed projects outside of class. Each week we discuss a new aspect of filmmaking and then they will complete an assignment during the week to explore this concept. Kids will upload their work for everyone to watch and review together during the next class.  Kids need to have access to their own device (camera or tablet) that has both enough storage on for short filmed sequences and a simple editing app such as imovie. Kids need to be independent and tech/savvy enough to complete these projects at home after receiving instruction or have an adult willing to assist.  Please reach out if you are unsure if this is a good fit! (class size limited to 6)

ADULT ACTING WORKOUT  2 1/2 hours (by interview/audition) - Elise - TUESDAYS 7 - 9:30

Whether you're a working pro looking to stay in shape or a newer actor just learning the ropes, this class will challenge you to do honest, personal work grounded in strong text analysis. Students bring their own audition style scenes each week and work with another student as reader, just as they would at an in-person on-camera audition.  (class size limited to 6)

Because we are working with very thin margins in an effort to keep costs down, we need a minimum of five students for a class to go.

Unlike past years, although we are encouraging continuity for the company classes, we are not requiring company kids to commit to both fall sessions. Both Fall 1 and 2 work will be featured in the Wonderland Adventures virtual performance on December 19.
